Linda McCartney’s Vegetarian Mozzarella Burger gets four out
of five stars. I cooked the burger by putting the patty in the microwave for two
minutes and then on the stove at medium to high heat for at least ten minutes.
While cooking on the stove, the cheese comes out of the burger a little bit which
causes it to need extra flipping.
The Linda McCartney’s Vegetarian Mozzarella Burger is what I
like to call a mock burger, which means it was made to look and taste as much
as a meat burger as possible. It was a little chewier than a meat burger, which
I assume is due to the fact it is mostly soy protein. The burgers have a caramelized
oniony flavor which is similar to a meat burger, but not completely accurate.
The mozzarella cheese gives the burger its juiciness and saturated fat content.
I think they would taste more similar to a meat burger if they would have been
cooked on grill and seasoned compared to being thrown on a stove or oven, plain.
One burger has 20.8g of protein and 265
calories, which is close to the amount a meat burger would have. The burger
does have less fat compared to meat burgers, with only 15.4g of fat. I bought two
patties for £2.20 ($2.90), which is a relatively average price for veggie
burgers. Overall, the Linda McCartney’s Vegetarian Mozzarella Burger is a good
burger for the price and would be a great burger for those who are taking steps
towards a plant-based diet.
Try it for yourself:
this sounds good and I am not vegan
